Acceptance criteria

T - Student shows in-depth knowledge of the scientific (not only practical/professional) theoretical foundations:

T.A knowledge of the various scientific studies and theoretical building blocks that are necessary to understand your phenomenon

T.B knowledge of the results of scientific studies from T.A

M - Student shows in-depth knowledge of the methodological scientific research foundations

M.A knowledge of the potentially useful methods to achieve T.B results that are used in the studies from your research field and other (maybe unrelated!) research fields M.B presentation and justification of your chosen method and sampling for your study (except for doctoral theses, you should work on only one study/questionnaire, not more)

R - If you decided for:

R1 Quantitative research approach > Large N and appropriate sampling (see Vzorčenje ) are required. Research questions are preferred over hypotheses. R2 Qualitative research approach > Smaller N is OK, but in-depth interviews or focus/discussion groups with users/customers or (preferably) experts and key informants are needed. In most R2 cases, especially in master's and doctoral theses, it is necessary to study and refer to even more scientific literature in T and M than in R1 cases. A co-mentor with experience in qualitative research (=her/his primary research focus) will most likely be required.


How to work on T

To address T, T.A, and T.B, you should identify the main theoretical starting points for your research topic. This includes scientific theories that provide a basis for understanding your phenomenon.

T.A has to be covered with a comprehensive overview of the various theoretical building blocks necessary to understand your phenomenon. This should include any key concepts, models, or frameworks that are generally accepted in the field and can contribute to the understanding of the phenomenon under your study.
