We have two formal meetings for all the teams. One at the beginning and one at the end of the course. In between - and in exchange for the absence of standard lectures, seminars and exams - I and my assistants are regularly available ****to guide students through your challenges when you ask me and my team for help.

Some of your groups ask us a little, others ask us a lot (including for special meetings with each group).

There are two other special features of these courses:

1.) Because of the simulation of remote project collaboration, my courses are also very technology oriented. Also before Covid.

2.) Although we work in groups, I am a fan of **performance-based “**pay”/grading systems, such as those possible in our courses.

GRADING FACT: At the end of the course a final group grade is given to the teams. In the next step, about 80% of the group leaders propose different (6-10) individual final grades to their student team members and 20% propose the same final grade to all.

For the above reasons, I realize that this type of course is not the best fit for everyone, like everything in life. Therefore, students can invest as much time as they want.

Some teams invest unusually much time, some little, every few years one team per generation dissolves.

A lot of courses’ insights (and opportunities for higher “pay”/grade) awaits also in additional practical tasks that are not mandatory for the reasons stated above.
